Creating events on Ikaria is easy. Here's everything you need to know about how it works.
Your event name is what will appear as the title of your event on the event page and in search engines. Event names must be at least 6 characters.
Start and end time
This is the time that your event is set to begin and end. Pick any date and time in the future, up to a year out.
By default, events are created in the timezone that you are presently in. You may select another timezone if needed. Visitors to your event page will see the event time converted into their local timezone, so you don't need to worry about that. When we send automate emails on your behalf, we make sure to include the timezone abbreviation to be extra clear about when the event is happening.
Your event description should let attendees know what to expect from the event, how to prepare, and what, if anything, they need to bring with them. Your description can be up to 5,000 characters.
All events on Ikaria are virtual, so the location is often a video conferencing link. One of the benefits of Ikaria is that we can automatically create a Zoom meeting on your behalf and attach it to the event. If you want to use this feature, make sure to connect your Zoom account.
If you don't want to use Zoom, you can provide your own video conferencing link and it will automatically be shared with your attendees.
Capacity determines how many people can RSVP to your event. Once capacity has been reached, your event page will show that it's sold out. The maximum capacity is 100, which is the maximum for a standard Zoom account. If you'd like to increase the total number, you can by upgrading to a large meeting license: Zoom Large Meetings
With Ikaria, you can host free events, pay-what-you-can events, or fixed cost events. If you want to collect payment through Ikaria, you must connect a Stripe account.
Free events don't cost anything. Attendees can RSVP without a credit card.
If you want to create an event where the attendees can choose their price, this is the option you'll want. You can set a suggested donation which will become the default when your attendee registers, but they will be able to either pay less or more depending on their budget.
If you want admission to your event to be a fixed price, this is the option you want. Attendees will be required to pay in order to secure their spot in your event.
